To mark the Clean Up the World week KuDeTa hosted a very special Family Daze event. In conjunction with Sunrise School, Body and Soul Bambini and Republic of Soap an event was designed that could bring awareness of environment issues into the local community.
There were t.shirts and bags with slogans from Body and Soul Bambini, a specially created sublock from Republic of Soap, hats from KuDeTa and a great deal of fun, including a free barbeque for kids.
The idea was to put on a fun day that promoted the many important aspects of environmental awareness through slogans, products, activities and a show. People met and mingled in the beautiful space of KuDeTa and against a backdrop that showcases the brilliance of Bali they discussed waste disposal, sun protection and eco warrior activites.

Showing your green side is not just a cycnical marketing move, it is a smart step towards infiltrating the mass conciousness with positive messages. It's about providing information in fun and absorbing presentations that appeal directly to your audience.

KuDeTa, Body and Soul Bambini and Republic of Soap have all commited to supporting the environment through these events.

The KuDeTa Family Daze Environment Day had great activities for kids that had an environment theme. There was a papermaking tent, where Agung helped everyone make beautiful sheets of recycled paper, Chris and helpers made fantastic crafts from baloons, created beautiful face paintings and picture frames. Small and large the activities appealed to all the visitors. There was also a colouring and poster making competition that attracted many entrants due to some wonderful prizes on offer to the winners.

The students of Sunrise School got together and performed two of their environment songs. The first one "We're going to recycle" was sung so sweetly, you could have heard a pin drop! The song sung at the end is one of the show favourites "Deep in my Heart" which gets the audience singing along, and the idea is next time you have a piece of garbage in your hand you will throw it in a bin as you rememebr the song!

Body and Soul Bambini

Body and Soul Bambini put on a swinging fashion show for kids. Themed like a "Swinging Sixites" demo the young models came on stage dressed in the latest Bambini clothing carrying placards with slogans on them illustrating environmental topics.
From Clean Up the Rivers to Don't Put Lipstick on Animals the posters revealed the children's concerns with what is happening in and to their world, the world that they will inherit generations from now.

Prize Giving

There were some amazing entries into our competitions and the judges had difficulties in selecting the top prize winers for the colouring competitions, the poster making and the recycled fashion items. In the end the prizes went to Rimba for his drawing in the 0-6 age group, to Maya for her drawing in the older age group, to Sara for her poster that illustrated an environmental issue. For the recycled fashion items the students of grade Four and Five Sunrise School won first prize for their amazing range of rainwear and Sara and Bambou won for their innovative use of recycled materials to create a wearable fashion item with their pretty pink dress made from towelling, ribbon and can tops.
